The story of the Christmas pixie that made a mistake
The feast was near and Father Christmas realised that one pixie did not have a job, yet. But there were so many presents to deliver: big ones, small ones, large ones, colourful ones and mysterious parcels.
And so the pixie was sent on its very first present delivery trip. “Not too many at once”, thought Father Christmas and selected only one house for delivery. They flew off in the reindeer sleigh and the pixie jumped off over the chimney. But he landed next to it on the roof. And without stopping he rolled over the roof and through a sky light into a small room.
Dazed, the pixie picked itself up from the floor and shook itself. He always thought a living room would look rather different. There was no sofa and no TV and the chimney, it had come through, did not seem right either.
And where was the Christmas tree? That’s where the pixie needed to place the presents. Oh dear, if the very first delivery went wrong – what would Father Christmas say?
The small pixie looked around. There was no tree. And so the pixie searched for a different hiding place for the presents in its sack. There was a big armchair – at least something that looked like a living room. Then there was a small cupboard, a chest of drawers and a small box with bars. This wasn’t a tree, but the presents might still fit in there. So the pixie dragged its sack to the weird box. It fetched a small stool and climbed on it so as to better reach over the bars.
But then it realised that the box wasn’t empty. A small bundle in a gift sack lay there. The pixie was all confused.
“Maybe Father Christmas gave me the wrong address”, it told itself dragging the sack quietly to the door. “The family, here, has its present already.”
Once the door closed softly behind the pixie, the small bundle moved in its small bed and the baby gurgled happily. The present was waking up. But the pixie did not hear this any more.
Only Father Christmas, who had watched the pixie on its first assignment, smiled about the mistake and quickly distributed the presents himself before he sent the small pixie on its next task.
