"Growing" beds
A bed that the child can grow up with is good and better than a bed or cot the child is quickly going to grow out of.
As soon as the child can pull itself up, the bars need to be higher than those for a baby who is lying down. A slatted frame should be put at its highest position, in order to leave at least 30 cm between the mattress and upper level of the bars. This is to prevent the baby from rolling out. In the lowest position there should be a 60 cm gap to stop the child from climbing out.
