Furnishing
Once the baby’s room has been prepared it is time to furnish. You don’t need much at the beginning: a cot, a baby changing table and maybe an additional cupboard. Some of the first safety questions arise at this time which become important in the long-term.
This is generally the case, especially when you are planning a proper children’s room and not just a space in the parents' bedroom. The child will want to experience many adventures in this room.
It will be up to you to decide on the style and taste of the furnishing. But you should always ask yourself: what is good for the child? What invites discovery and playfulness? And what should be played with?
As with the other pages, we cannot list all the details here. We will give you personal advice, though. And here are some other sources that provide information and help: the Ethical Consumer Research Association and the Ethiscore online shopping guide and the European Consumers' Organisation.
